Kimono weaving

Photo-26
I took the plunge and cut the kimono.
i wove in some strips and finished the feather.
it is coming along.
i like it.
wanting to do some smaller pieces and will start that today.
i miss having a small thing in my hands to stitch.
on another note:
i live by a park and have always heard that parrots lived there.
i live in the northwest, parrots don't live outside here.
i have heard them lots of times but never seen them
this morning i heard them really close, got out the binoculars and
there they were in the pear tree.
green parrots with a red head. two of them, having a feast of pears.
made my day

Moving into fall

i am having a hard time with the cloudy weather.

didn't have enough sunshine in seattle this year. it always depresses me to move from summer to fall. i think it is worse this year. since i got home from the cabin i haven;t stitched at all.

went to santa fe for three days and played.

thought of grace the whole time.. i love new mexico.

i love the air, the mountains and this amazing rainbow

Rainbow

i finally decided on a project for magic diaries. i keep changing.

i dyed all the fabrics at the cabin. i found a pattern for a simple kimono and cut out the pieces (they are all just rectangles)

i dyed them all in the vat.  of course, they didn't turn out exactly the same color.

so the kimono is all different shades.

Kimono indigo
i will do weaving on the whole thing and add patches, so the color will be okay.

after all it is just for home.

it turned out pretty well considering i hate sewing.

i already have a little feather drawn on

Feather
i think i will just close the doors and go sew for a while
