Heart Therapy

Image

i made this for a friend's birthday. it took me a really short time.  well, it actually took a little longer than that.  i had to make it twice. the first time i made it i wrote on it before i decided to tea dye it.

it smeared all over and i had used pitt pens, so was surprised. but i pressed it together to wring it out.

had to start over..

it says

a friend is someone that knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you forget the words.

my friend is someone like that for me. she and i have been friends for 28 years. we have been through a lot together. i think when someone knows you that well you can lose all the faces you present to the world and just show the inside of you.

i recently read a book that changed the way i look at myself.

A Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes.

he won the Booker prize for it.

we have a memory of who we were and how things were. the memories get colored in our head by the way we want to replay them.

amazing when you look back and think about some of the events that shaped you and some that you didn't allow to make a difference.

guess i am ranting without really saying anything. not a great writer..

julian barnes says it all.. i recommend it..

Monday Morning

was a good weekend for stitching. i got a lot done. the weather was lousy and everyone was quiet. i am not used to sitting in front of the fireplace, but that was the agenda this time. i miss summer...

so the kimono continues.

the lining is an old silk kimono that i am sewing into each section. i may not have enough for the back so it will be something different.

the feel of the two cloths sewn together is great. i love the weight of it.

i am using the front as a place to put magic symbols.

i am not sure what all the symbols represent but i like them and they spoke to me.

i am going to add lots of circles on this side. it is still just going from one thing to the next. i don't have a plan. the stitcing is great. i am finally into the project.

i also spent some time trying to make cards.

Photo-93

i stitched the little piece and used spray adhesive to attach it to the card.

it stained the cloth and i don't like the effect. if anyone knows how to do this let me know. i just want to have some little things to use as my own personal cards.

so a productive weekend and fun

the sun is shining today and i will try to take some pictures of the leaves.

it is really pretty here now. you know i will be complaining soon, so i better take advantange of this weather.

thanks for visiting...
