Beginning base

 

 This is the base I am starting with. I am new to stitching so this is an adventure. I chose the weaving method because I like the looks of it and I am a weaver.  I think the colors started from the corner of the cloth. It is part of an old kimono that I took apart. This edge is dyed and the colors are fading into the rest of the cloth. The stitching is so beautiful that I couldn't take it out. 

The fabrics are from my friend Susan. She has been in a stitchery class for 4 years and this is part of her stash of dyed cloth. She was so kind to share with me. They are all cotton and some are very gauzy.  

I am excited about the process and already I am thinking of all the possibilities.
